NarraTale is a single-player, AI-powered text RPG for Windows. Write actions in your own words or choose a suggested move. An Ollama model narrates your adventure, while a separate RPG system tracks your equipment, health, energy and combat outcomes.

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD

NarraTale requires a working Ollama connection and an available model. Models, subscriptions and cloud credits are not included.

Use an installed local model or your own Ollama Cloud access. Cloud models require internet access and may have provider limits or charges. Local models require suitable hardware.

This is a public alpha. Story quality, speed and consistency depend on your selected model. The lore system helps preserve details, but AI can still make mistakes. There is no fixed, prewritten campaign.

Built-in illustrations and sound effects are included. Background music is planned for a later update. Optional AI-generated scene images require a separately configured image service.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Download and extract the Windows ZIP.
2. Run NarraTale-0.6-Windows.exe.
3. Choose English or Ukrainian.
4. Install and open Ollama, then prepare a model that responds in its chat. NarraTale will try to connect automatically. Alternatively, configure direct Ollama Cloud access with your own API key in Settings.
5. Create your world and hero, choose your rules mode, and begin.

AI AND YOUR DATA

Narration and description refinement use generative AI. AI tools also assisted development and promotional artwork.

Relevant story and character information is sent to your selected model connection. Using cloud models sends that information outside your computer. Saves are stored locally.
